In The Air

I don’t know about you, but whenever I fly, I love to have the window seat on the airplane.  As the airplane ascends up in the air, I start to think of how amazing it is to be able to fly. When the plane is taking off, I get this feeling of excitement that we are on our way to our destination.  But the real excitement comes when we are in the air, looking down at the earth as we are flying.  I spend my time just looking out the window and as we are flying over different cities, towns, mountains, or plains. I can’t help but think what I would do if I were to visit that city, or that town or those mountains or plains.  From the city lights to the open fields of the great plains, I thank God for all this beauty that He created and that I have the privilege of viewing it from this angle, in the air. Then as the plane continues to climb in altitude, and the earth fades under the great white clouds in the sky, I turn my focus on the wonderful feeling that comes over me thinking how close we are to our loved ones in Heaven and how I wish that we could just see them one more time. How cool is it to be on a plane between Heaven and Earth! Then, the airplane starts to descend and more excitement hits me, we are almost to our destination. Whether we are visiting relatives or we are on vacation, away from the hustle and bustle of life, we know that we are blessed to be able to take those trips and have the opportunity to make those memories that we cherish so much.
